| Renegades Clip MuckDogs in Tight Contest | The Raleigh Renegades knocked off the Fairview MuckDogs, 7-6, at Raiders Ballpark. Gio Brusa, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Raleigh won. The right fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Raleigh reliever Joe Biagini picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Luke Gregerson shouldered the loss. The save went to Brett Cecil, his 7th this season.
Dee Gordon went 1-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch for Raleigh. The 31-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Luke Gregerson. It was his 25th RBI of the season.
"It was a solid team effort," said Gordon after the game.
Even with the win, the Renegades have a dismal 26-55 record.
