| Rough Riders Stumble, Lose to Indians | Behind a solid performance from right fielder Jay Bruce, the Indianapolis Indians defeated the San Juan Rough Riders, 8-3. Bruce was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Indians. With the win, the Indians improved to 38-51.
Bruce had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Indians went on to win.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Indianapolis manager Ryne Sandberg.
