| Bats Saddle Reapers with 8-3 Loss | The Austin Bats picked up a win at Mosaic Stadium, knocking off the Regina Reapers, 8-3. Starting pitcher Gerrit Cole, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Cole, now 10-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. Austin is now 49-40, Regina 55-34.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing Regina hurler Mike Dunn, Justin Upton hit a 2-run triple. The Bats went on to win.
