| Machado Blasts Gators, Seawolves Take Game 2, 7-2 | The Erie Seawolves relied on the hitting of third baseman Manny Machado to get by the Florida Gators, 7-2, in Game 2 of the Round 2 today. For the game, Machado went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the seventh when Machado, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Seawolves into the lead, 4-2.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Erie manager Terry Francona.
Game 3 is set to be played on Tuesday, October 31st, 2017 at Jerry Uht Park. Slated to start are Cole Hamels for Florida and Aaron Nola for Erie.
