Erie Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
Aaron Nola pitched a gem to help the Erie Seawolves escape with a tight 2-1 victory over the Florida Gators in a low-scoring Round 2 contest today. The right-handed Nola threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, just enough for the Seawolves on a day when their offense dried up. Erie now leads the best-of-7 series 2-1.

Erie catcher Matt Wieters helped the Seawolves go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the third inning. With the game tied, Wieters hit a solo home run off Florida pitcher Michael Fulmer.

"We were in it," said Florida manager Steve Strzepek . "We just didn't score enough runs."

Game 4 is set to be played on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 at Jerry Uht Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Michael Fulmer for the Gators and Carlos Rodon for the Seawolves.
