| Bullet Club Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Gators | Richmond overcame a superlative game from Jacob deGrom to beat Florida, 6-4. The Florida pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Richmond reliever Bryan Mitchell picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Shawn Tolleson was saddled with the loss. The slumping Gators have lost 9 straight.
Jose Bautista, who is tied for 8th in the EL in bases on balls with 38, aided the Richmond cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with 2 walks.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Florida manager Steve Strzepek .
