| Closing In: Erie Nears World Series With Dramatic Game 4 Win | When the games really matter, the Erie Seawolves put on their best show, beating the Florida Gators by a final score of 3-2 today. Clayton Kershaw earned player of the game honors, as he threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Erie now leads Florida 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Erie designated hitter Maikel Franco, facing Dellin Betances, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Seawolves the 3-2 win.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Erie manager Terry Francona.
Game 5 is set to be played on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at Jerry Uht Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Clayton Kershaw for Florida and Patrick Corbin for Erie.
