| Round 2 Goes the Distance, Erie Prevails | With a narrow 4-3 series win, the Erie Seawolves have eliminated the Florida Gators and are Round 2 winners.
"We tried not to look ahead to the World Series, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said first baseman Eric Hosmer, who was named series MVP.
Erie won the final game by a score of 5-2, wrapping it up at Yankee Stadium.
Hosmer's big series saw him hit .360 with a .448 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Erie Seawolves will play against the Las Vegas Coyotes in the next round. Las Vegas won their series against the Winnipeg Blue Jays 4 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |
