| Gators Come Back Late to Top Bullet Club | Florida beat Richmond at Yankee Stadium, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder David Peralta, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Florida reliever Mark Melancon picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Arodys Vizcaino shouldered the loss. The second-place Gators raised their record to 37-57.
Peralta contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Florida in the bottom of the ninth. With his team trailing 6-4, Peralta took a curveball from Arodys Vizcaino and stroked the home run to right. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Gators to leap in front, 7-6.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Gators manager Steve Strzepek . "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
