Nola, Fairview Prevail in Pitchers' Duel | Fairview right-hander Aaron Nola pitched his team to a shutout win, 2-0, over the Avon Lake Schooners. Eddie Jenkins was credited with the save for Fairview, his 1st of the season. The win takes Fairview to 7-4.
Nola, who dominated for Fairview, earned the victory to move to 1-1. He was in control the whole game, scattering 5 hits over 8.2 innings, while striking out 6. Avon Lake batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Nola.
