| Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Gators | The Avon Lake Schooners got a superb performance from pitcher Daniel Norris. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Florida. The Gators won the game, 4-1. In spite of the loss, Norris was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Florida reliever Pedro Strop picked up the win to move to 3-3. Kenley Jansen suffered the loss. The Gators now have a mark of 39-57.
Florida won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With one out and Kenley Jansen on the mound for Avon Lake, catcher Ryan Lidge hit a dramatic grand slam home run, bringing Gators fans to their feet.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Lidge told the Florida Daily.
