Smyly went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 2-1. The Bats fall to 5-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2019 season.
Jimmy Paredes didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put Nashua on top, 2-0.
Austin manager Trey Bats said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
