| Gators Come Back Late, Nip Reapers | Yankee Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Florida Gators and the Regina Reapers.
The Florida Gators downed the Regina Reapers, 5-4, at Yankee Stadium. The Gators were led by Ryan Braun, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. The second-place Gators have won 6 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman D.J. LeMahieu came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Regina pitcher Hansel Robles, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Florida on top, 5-4.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Florida manager Steve Strzepek .
