Great Effort by Reapers CF Trout Not Enough in 6-4 Loss | The Regina Reapers got a sterling performance from center fielder Mike Trout, but the Bats still prevailed, 6-4. Trout was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Jake Petricka converted his 5th save in 6 tries. Austin now sits in first place in the Western League North West Divison at 56-43.
The Bats got a big at-bat from center fielder Tommy Pham. For the game, Pham went 1 for 4. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 82nd hit of the season gave Austin a 6-4 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Pham, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
