| Blue Jays Down Bats, 5-2 | The Winnipeg Blue Jays picked up a win at Ballpark of Brooklyn, knocking off the Austin Bats, 5-2. Starting pitcher Sonny Gray, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Trevor Rosenthal earned the save, his 29th. The Blue Jays saw their record improve to 48-54.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the fourth, with the game tied, Tyler Pastornicky was at the plate when Winnipeg scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Blue Jays to go in front, 3-1.
"It feels good to get that win," said Pastornicky. "Now it's on to the next one."
