| Baez Blasts Bats, Freedom Take Game 2, 6-3 | The Mississippi Freedom relied on the hitting of second baseman Javier Baez to get by the Austin Bats, 6-3, in Game 2 of the Round 2 today. For the game, Baez went 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.
Had Baez not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Baez hit a 3-run home run. The Freedom never looked back after taking the 5-2 lead.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Baez.
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th, 2019 at Ballpark of Columbus. The scheduled starters for the game are Michael Pineda for Austin and Connor W. Jones for Mississippi.
