| Mississippi Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in Round 2 | Riding the 3-hit performance of shortstop Francisco Lindor, the Mississippi Freedom stopped the visiting Austin Bats, 5-3, in Game 3 of the Round 2 today. Lindor was 3-4 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Freedom, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Had Lindor not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Lindor hit a run-scoring double. The Freedom never looked back after taking the 4-3 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Lindor told the Mississippi Observer.
Game 4 is set to be played on Thursday, October 17th, 2019 at Ballpark of Columbus. The scheduled starters for the game are Noah Syndergaard for the Bats and Morgan Cooper for the Freedom.
