Extra-Inning Win by Choppers over Emeralds | A 6-RBI performance from catcher Salvador Perez, who is a two-time Great Glove Award winner, led the Connecticut Choppers to a 7-6 win over the Eugene Emeralds. The winner was Craig Kimbrel in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Daniel Hudson took the loss. Connecticut, at 56-49, occupies second place in the Eastern League North East Divison.
The Choppers got a big at-bat from third baseman Asdrubal Cabrera. For the game, Cabrera was 2-5 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the 11th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 58th hit of the season gave Connecticut a 7-6 lead.
In postgame remarks, Cabrera simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
