| Ray Helps Connecticut Cruise to 11-3 Win | The game between Connecticut and Fairview is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Connecticut Choppers defeated the Fairview MuckDogs, 11-3, at Stars Stadium. Connecticut center fielder Corey D. Ray was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Connecticut starter Gio Gonzalez was credited with the win after throwing 98 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 9-8.
Kole Calhoun, who is tied for 4th in the EL in triples with 4, aided the Connecticut cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4 with a hit by pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Ray said.
The Choppers raised their record to 50-44.
