| Schooners Win at Raleigh, 2-1 | Avon Lake left-hander Steven Matz helped his team edge Raleigh by the score of 2-1. Matz kept the opposing lineup in check. Michael Blazek, credited with the save, is now 3 for 5 in save opportunities. The first-place Schooners have won 4 consecutive games.
Had Randal Grichuk not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Grichuk hit a 2-run double. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Schooners.
