| Heyward Helps Schooners Run Win Streak to 6 | The Avon Lake Schooners topped the Florida Gators by the score of 8-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Jason Heyward. Heyward was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Schooners on the day. The first-place Schooners have won 6 in a row.
Heyward had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fifth, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Schooners went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Avon Lake manager Greg Legg.
