The Erie Seawolves got a stellar performance from pitcher Keyvius Sampson, who handcuffed the Connecticut offense en route to a 7-1 win at Houston Grounds. Erie is now riding a 5-game win streak.

With one out in the top of the second, James McCann stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 101st hit of the season and put Erie in front, 1-0.

Sampson called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
