Pride Raise Rally Flag, Beat Austin, 5-3 | The Pride had to overcome a fine effort from Austin pitcher Jim Malone to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Ballpark of Brooklyn. Malone went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. The Pride saw their win-loss record go to 61-59. At the same time, the Bats fell to 62-57.
The most important at-bat for Nashua came in the top of the ninth inning, when catcher Jonathan Lucroy stroked a 1-2 fastball to center for a run-scoring single, putting Nashua up, 4-3.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Nashua manager Gary Van Tol.
