| Schooners Roll to 11-3 Win Over MuckDogs | Though the conditions were not ideal, the Avon Lake Schooners and Fairview MuckDogs came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Lorenzo Cain, the Avon Lake Schooners defeated the Fairview MuckDogs, 11-3. Cain went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Schooners. Joe Ross, credited with the win, is now 12-9. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings.
Jay Bell, who was drafted in the two round of the 2017 draft, helped out the Avon Lake cause in the top of the third inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the right fielder went 2-4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Cain.
Avon Lake improves to 69-52 with the win. They lead their division by 4 games.
