Seawolves Stay Hot, Beat Emeralds

Miguel Cabrera did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Eugene Emeralds from losing, 9-7, to the Erie Seawolves at Jerry Uht Park. Cabrera went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Seawolves have now won 7 straight.

The Seawolves beat the Emeralds in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Tyler Naquin produced in the bottom of the third. Batting against Eugene pitcher Max Scherzer, Naquin gave his team a 6-4 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"I felt good up there," said Naquin. "I saw the ball well."
