| Choppers Get Road Win, 5-4 | The Connecticut Choppers picked up a win at Ballpark of Bullet Club, knocking off the Richmond Bullet Club, 5-4. Starting pitcher Francisco Liriano was an essential part of his team's success. Craig Kimbrel converted his 21st save in 23 tries. Connecticut currently is in second place in the Eastern League North East Divison at 66-56.
The Choppers got a big at-bat from right fielder Kole Calhoun. For the game, Calhoun went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Connecticut a 3-1 lead.
In postgame comments to the Connecticut News, Calhoun said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
