 | Bad News for Austin, Matt Carpenter Hurt Monday, October 14th, 2019 Playoff hopes of Bats player Matt Carpenter have been dealt a blow today after tests revealed the third baseman suffered torn ankle ligaments making a defensive play in today's game against Mississippi Freedom. Carpenter is expected to miss up to 6-7 weeks, effectively ruling him out of the playoffs. This year Carpenter is batting .252 with 8 home runs and 24 RBIs. In 63 games he has scored 39 times. |   |
