War Dogs Lose Wilson for Season
Thursday, September 3rd, 2020
The doctors have spoken and Alex Wilson of the Pittsburgh War Dogs didn't like what he heard. The 33-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Wilson sustained his season-ending injury during the Newport News Tornado game yesterday at Ballpark of Pittsburgh. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Pittsburgh medical staff reported Wilson had a torn triceps and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8-9 weeks.

This season Wilson has been credited with 2 saves. In 35 relief appearances and 44.2 innings he has a 3-5 won-lost mark, a 3.43 ERA and 28 strikeouts.
