St. Louis's Collins Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 All game long, St. Louis's Gavin Collins was rattling the walls at Ballpark of Mobile and banging out base hits against the Mobile Squids. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Wildcats had a 11-1 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 25-year-old catcher said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Gavin Collins doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Collins has 2 home runs and a .287 batting average. |
