Las Vegas Devastated by Playoff Elimination

Chris Cron, the manager of the Las Vegas Phantoms, said his players are "devastated" to have missed the playoffs. Today it became official -- the club has run out of games and was mathematically eliminated from qualifying.
Las Vegas hasn't yet made it to the postseason. The team has now missed qualifying for the postseason in each of their 4 seasons in the OAA.

Firebirds Win Tight Division 1 Race

Fans of the Seymour (Eau Claire County) Firebirds are certainly optimistic regarding their team's chances to become World Series champions, after it became official that the club has won the Division 1.
"I think our fans think we're the best team in the league and you know what? Our guys think the same thing," said reliever Travis McElligott. "We've got a real good chance to take this title."
It would be the 1st league championship for the club, which has won the Division 1 for the 1st time.
Manager Salvino Alfaro said he's spent many years in pro ball, but there's "just something special" about his current group of players.
"This team has got what it takes to be a champion," he said.

Season Ends for Rodriguez

Team officials for the Sunrise Manor Hammerheads confirmed that a torn labrum will force Miguel Rodriguez to miss the rest of the season. Rodriguez sustained the injury on 09/21/2020. It remains to be seen who will replace Rodriguez on the active roster.
So far this year Rodriguez has 1 save in 15 relief appearances with a 1-0 record and 2.13 ERA.
