Mules Held Hitless by Oviedo Monday, August 3rd, 2020 Excitement reigned at Silver Sabres Ballpark today as Kahalu'u-Keauhou Silver Sabres hurler Johan Oviedo tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter. After defeating the Riverside Mules, 2-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments. "I'm just glad to be here," Oviedo said. "Today I just went right at the Mules as hard as I could, as long as I could." Oviedo chalked up 6 strikeouts and allowed 3 walks in his superb performance. "I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said Kahalu'u-Keauhou manager Charlie Montoyo. Oviedo has posted a 5-2 record for the year with a 2.77 ERA. Teams are hitting .229 against him and he has rung up 93 strikeouts in 78 innings. |
